We started by looking at what did not work in EcoEye 1.0. The cardboard structure bent fast and the food chute did not stay open. The camera recorded everything which wasted storage and energy. There was no way to control how much food dropped and there were no learning features for users. We wanted a better system that supported wildlife in a safe and ethical way. EcoEye 2.0 needed to prevent overfeeding, reduce waste, and activate only when an animal was near. It also needed to teach users about wildlife while staying simple to set up outdoors.
